I love the one where Paul is looking at his watch and seemingly eager as hell to get her into the register office. LOL!
09 OCTOBER 2011
Sir Paul McCartney looked as excited and thrilled as if it was his first crack at marriage when he tied the knot with his American beauty Nancy Shevell.
Nancy, a businesswoman from New York – who looks considerably younger than her 51 years –was radiant in a knee-length ivory gown, adorned with a row of tiny buttons on the bodice, designed by his fashion designer daughter Stella. She wore a white flower in her hair and carried a small posy of flowers that matched the groom's buttonhole. Macca, 69, wore a navy suit with a skinny blue tie.
They arrived hand-in-hand for the service, skipping up the steps of The Old Marylebone Town Hall the same venue in London, where he married his late wife Linda.
Also at the intimate affair was her 19-year-old son, Arlen and his former bandmate Ringo Starr, who arrived in a black suit, T-shirt and trainers with his wife, actress Barbara Bach. Fans bearing balloons and banners had gathered outside the registry office where they became man and wife in a simple ceremony, which cost £1,540 and lasted an hour and 10 minutes.Life-long Beatles fan Chiara Amato said she had sat outside the registry office every day since September 29 in anticipation. She said: "This marriage is going to last. She seems to be really nice and deeply in love with him."I have been listening to The Beatles since I was six-years-old. I have been to see Sir Paul in concert 27 times." In contrast to his 1969 nuptials with Linda, which were hastily arranged the day before, Sir Paul and the new Lady McCartney announced their engagement a few months ago and posted noticeof their intention to wed in September.
Sunday's reception was due to took place at the address in St John's Wood where he has lived for over 45 years. After being driven through the gates, the newlyweds, who had been fairly restrained in their celebrations up until then, began jumping up and down in delight.Guests wishing them well were expected to include film director Sam Taylor-Wood, her partner Aaron Johnson, Pink Floyd's Dave Gilmour and his wife Polly Samson. Armfuls of delicate blush-coloured roses and white hydrangeas for the festivities had been delivered the day before. A marquee was erected in the garden and bottles of bubbly had been left to chill. Sir Paul reportedly planned to serenade his elegant bride with Let it Be, which he sang on one of their first holidays together three years ago. Then he will perform her favourite, Let Me Roll It, which includes the lyrics: "You Gave Me Something I Understand/You Gave Me Loving In The Palm Of My Hand/Can't Tell You How I Feel/My Heart Is Like A Wheel".The smitten singer has also composed a third song specially for his new wife.
She's good for him and the family. I wish them such a lot of happiness.
While she might have looked excited on the way to wed Sir Paul McCartney, Nancy Shevell emerged holding hands with her new husband displaying a look of pure delight.
As she left Marylebone Register Office as Lady McCartney, Nancy couldn't keep the smile off her face as she beamed alongside Paul.
The couple were greeted on the steps of the building by friends and family who covered the newlyweds in rose petals.

And the Beatles singer and songwriter looked equally as ecstatic as they waved to the crowds of fans and well wishers.
The pair got into a car with Paul's daughter Beatrice who had acted as bridesmaid and made their way to their North London home for the reception.
Sir Paul and Nancy became man and wife in front of just 30 guests at Marylebone Register Office.
We did it! The couple emerge as friends and family throw rose petals into the air

Ahead of the nuptials and with her groom by her side Nancy, who was wearing an ivory flower in her hair, had looked happy and relaxed as they got in the car.
The former Beatle was seen acting the perfect gentleman offering his wife-to-be a helping hand as they got into the car.
As they arrived at the venue, the couple posed together and waved at fans.
Nancy had opted for a demure ivory knee-length gown, thought to be designed by Paul's daughter Stella, which boasted button detail down the front and on the sleeves.

The bride was carrying a simple bouquet of mixed coloured roses while Sir Paul wore a smart navy suit and a light blue tie.
As the couple made their way up the steps Nancy turned around to the crowd and beamed, showing her delight at the day.
The pair were met at the top of the steps by Paul's daughter Beatrice, who took on the role as flower girl.

Ready as ever: The couple were all smiles as they made their way into the register office

Reception: The couple are having their reception in a marquee outside their North London home
The eight year old, whose mother is McCartney's ex-wife Heather Mills, looked gorgeous in a pretty dress, a rose pink coat ballet slippers and a floral headdress.
Earlier today the couple indulged in a pre-wedding workout and were seen leaving a gym together.
Sir Paul is set to perform a new song as a gift to his new wife at his wedding reception at their home later today.
The former Beatle will unveil the song at the reception on what would have been John Lennon's 71st birthday.

Not long to go! Sir Paul McCartney and fiance Nancy Shevell were seen leaving their house in St Johns Wood, north London, for an early morning work out before they became Sir and Lady McCartney
He will also sing the iconic Let It Be, which he wrote for the Beatles, and Let Me Roll It, which he wrote for his band Paul McCartney & Wings, reported the Daily Record.
He apparently sang Let It Be to Nancy during one of their first holidays together in Morocco three years ago.
The second song was picked because it is American heiress Nancy’s favourite and contains the lyric: 'You gave me loving in the palm of my hand.'
The couple, who boast a combined fortune of £700 million, decided to marry in front of just 30 guests at Marylebone Register Office where Sir Paul married Linda in March 1969.
Instead of spending the morning getting hair and makeup done, Nancy took her fiance to the gym for an early morning work out at the gym ahead of their nuptials.
The pair looked relaxed and sporty in matching dark tracksuits.
Ready? The couple, who boast a combined fortune of £700million, will marry in a low-key ceremony in front of just 30 guests
Sources close to the star also say Sir Paul will also lovingly refer to Linda – mother of three of his grown-up children – who died from breast cancer in 1998.
But there will be no mention of his second wife, Heather Mills, whom he divorced acrimoniously in 2008, despite their daughter Beatrice, seven, acting as bridesmaid.
Yesterday, Paul and Nancy, 51, who is Jewish, visited the Liberal Jewish Synagogue near his home in St John's Wood, to mark Yom Kippur.
The couple left the singer's home in a chauffeur-driven Lexus just before 5pm, with Sir Paul winding down his window to say: 'Hi guys. Thanks for coming. We're looking forward to it. See you guys.'
The waiting crowd: Beatles fans and members of the media waited outside the Marylebone registry office before the couple's wedding ceremony
Already gathering: A Beatles fan showed her tattoos to the media as she waited outside the registry office
Third time lucky: Sir Paul says hello to his well wishers
The service was conducted by Superintendent Registrar Alison Cathcart and cost £1,540.
The couple were thought to have exchanged rings from Los Angeles jeweller Neil Lane and back at his home Sir Paul showed off his simple gold band.
Yesterday, final preparations were getting under way at the house before the arrival of guests who are expected to include Sir Paul's five children – adopted eldest daughter Heather from Linda's first marriage, photographer Mary, fashion designer Stella, son James, and youngest daughter Beatrice.
Deliveries: Wedding preparations at Paul McCartney's house in St Johns Wood

Moving day: Temporary furniture is delivered to the north London home of former Beatle Paul McCartney
Reception: A fridge is loaded with champagne for the wedding
A marquee had been erected on the drive of the three-storey detached property, which is hidden from the street by a 6ft wall, while an awning had been erected on the pavement at the gates to the property.
Two van loads of flowers, including pastel coloured roses and white hydrangeas, were delivered and bottles of champagne could be seen in a fridge next to the marquee, while more vans delivered furniture including around 100 steel chairs and ten drinks tables with mirrored glass surfaces.
The proceedings are in stark contrast to the £1.5 million Sir Paul spent on his wedding to Heather Mills in 2003 in front of 300 guests at Castle Leslie in Ireland.
That was followed by an elaborate reception which included a vegetarian banquet.
Seating arrangements: Chairs are delivered for the guests
Musical chairs: Seating for the reception is delivered to the house
Fresh as a daisy: Flowers are ready to be placed at the reception
Then, Sir Paul was reported to have spent tens of thousands of pounds on 300 bottles of vintage Cristal and Laurent Perrier, costing £180 a time.
But yesterday, fridges were being loaded with a far cheaper option – non-vintage Dumangin Grande Reserve champagne costing £26.50 a bottle.
The brand is little-known in the UK but was described by one critic last year as 'delicious, rare and delectable' and 'good value for money'.
The venue: Marylebone Town Hall in London where Paul McCartney will married Nancy Shevell earlier today
Workmen carrying tools including a spirit level arrived at the property in a van from the firm Momart, which specialises in transporting fine art. One said they had been asked to hang paintings, including works by Picasso and some of Sir Paul's own work.
After the celebrations the newlyweds are expected to fly to America to mark their nuptials with a second gathering at the Hamptons, the exclusive seaside enclave two hours from New York where they both own homes.
The move mirrors Sir Paul's wedding to Linda in 1969 when they flew to New York to visit her family.
Miss Shevell, a family friend of Sir Paul and Linda, is vice president of her family's transport firm and has a 19-year-old son, Arlen, from her 24-year marriage to first husband Bruce Blakeman.
Memories: Paul McCartney leaving Marylebone Registry Office after marrying Linda Eastman
I notice that Paul still has a lot of respect shown to him by the Press. In videos, Beatrice is not shown and in photos her face is pixelated. Of course we want to see Beatrice but if Paul doesn't want her shown, then that's fine with me. He gets little enough privacy for a private moment as it is.
Sir Paul McCartney and American heiress Nancy Shevell smiled and waved as they arrived at a register office for their wedding today.
The couple spent around a minute posing for photographers after arriving at The Old Marylebone Town Hall in London shortly after 3.25pm.
The 69-year-old former Beatle wore a dark suit with a white shirt and pale blue tie while his bride chose a long-sleeved white dress for the ceremony.

They smiled widely as Nancy, wearing a white flower in her hair, got into the back seat of the car to sit alongside a young bridesmaid dressed in pink.
Both clutched small bouquets of flowers.
Sir Paul got into the passenger seat, waved and blew a kiss to the dozens of fans waiting by the entrance to the driveway.
Members of the press scrambled to get the first glimpse of Nancy's dress and to take pictures of her and the former Beatle.
A black Mercedes saloon car left a few minutes before with three women inside, believed to be members of Nancy's family.
Sir Paul and Nancy broke tradition by spending the morning of the wedding together.
They were first seen when they left the house looking relaxed and in casual clothes shortly after 11.30am.
They are thought to have gone to the gym at nearby Lord's Cricket Ground.
Nancy beamed as she walked to the same chauffeur-driven red Lexus saloon car that took them to the ceremony, wearing Aviator-style sunglasses and a blue rain coat.
The music legend joined her on the back seat in a black fleece jacket.
Fans and journalists took pictures of the couple.
Vans delivering supplies such as temporary carpets, candles and an entertainment system arrived shortly after the couple left.
Around an hour later the pair returned and Sir Paul waved and smiled out of the window as the car pulled back into the drive.
A make-up artist and hair stylist are thought to have gone into the house shortly after.
Caterers and other staff ferried items into the house all afternoon.
After spending around an hour and 10 minutes inside, the beaming couple left the venue as husband and wife.
Family and friends threw confetti as they walked down the steps.

They waved to the gathering of around 200 cheering fans - some of whom had been waiting all day to catch a glimpse of the singer - before getting into their red Lexus to travel to the reception at Sir Paul's home.
Wedding cakes were delivered at around 4.10pm.
It took two people to carry the main cake, which had chocolate as one of the ingredients. The other was a vegan cake.
Asked how long it took to create, the cakemaker from Posh Puds Patisserie said: "We worked for weeks."
Children's entertainers and catering staff also went into the house.
Sir Paul and Nancy posed for pictures and kissed outside their home when they got back from the ceremony.
Asked how he felt, he said: "Terrific, thank you. I feel married." He added: "I feel absolutely wonderful." Sir Paul shook hands with fans and gave hi-fives. Nancy did not say anything, but grinned and winked at the waiting fans and journalists.
The bride's second cousin, US broadcast journalist Barbara Walters, described the wedding as "beautiful and wonderful" as she left the register office.
When asked if anyone had cried during the ceremony she laughed and said "me".
Alison Cathcart, Westminster City Council's superintendent registrar said: "I am overjoyed to have played a part in bringing these two wonderful people together in marriage.
"Lots of couples get married at Marylebone Town Hall because of the venue's iconic status and reputation as the place to get married in central London.
"I wish them both great happiness as they further their lives together."
Nancy is very thin isn't she? Same age as me. Oh if only.... [sigh]
Former Beatle Sir Paul McCartney has married American heiress Nancy Shevell at a ceremony in London.
The couple posed for pictures outside Old Marylebone Town Hall register office after being showered with confetti by wedding guests.
Ms Shevell, 51, from New York, is an heiress to a haulage fortune.
She is Sir Paul's third wife after Linda McCartney died in 1998 and he split from second wife Heather Mills during an acrimonious divorce in 2008.
Ms Shevell wore a white, long-sleeved dress and held a bouquet of roses, while the former Beatle wore a dark suit with a white shirt and pale blue tie for the occasion.
Hundreds of fans gathered outside the central London register office to see the couple arrive and depart from their wedding ceremony, and barricades were erected.
A considerable presence of journalists and photographers also waited for several hours before the newlyweds finally emerged.
The wedding party spent more than an hour inside the venue before emerging on the steps of the building.
The couple then returned to their home in St John's Wood for a reception with family and close friends.
When asked who he felt after tying the knot for a third time, Sir Paul told waiting reporters: "Terrific, thank you. I feel married," adding, "I feel absolutely wonderful."
'Going to last'
Earlier this month Ms Shevell moved in with Sir Paul at his London home.
Ms Shevell, who was married for 20 years to American lawyer and political candidate Bruce Blakeman, became engaged to Sir Paul in May.
The couple began dating four years ago in the upmarket Hamptons area of Long Island.
Life-long Beatles fan Chiara Amato said she had sat outside the register office every day since September 29 in anticipation of the couple's wedding.
She said: "This marriage is going to last. She seems to be really nice and deeply in love with him. I have been listening to The Beatles since I was six-years-old. I have been to see Sir Paul in concert 27 times."
Paul McCartney and Linda Eastman leave Marylebone Town Hall after getting married in 1969Sir Paul's eldest daughter, Mary, also married at the register office last year.
Ms Shevell is a board member of New York's transportation authority and vice-president of her family haulage firm.
But the wedding is expected to mean an end to her work in the family business and her leaving her position on the board of the transportation body.
Ms Shevell told the New York Post she would "love" the couple to live in the US but she would "probably" move to England after the wedding.

The birthplace of Beatles legend Ringo Starr has been saved from demolition after a dramatic last-minute intervention by the government.
Thanks to friend Shannon on Facebook for posting this.
I love Beatles multi-tracks. Isolating different sounds on Beatles songs is great fun and I need to do it more.
